The three chefs
Isabelle Steiger, WASSERSCHLOSS WYHER. Her cooking philosophy is all about the harmony of products and dishes and pursues a refined, simple cuisine made from the best ingredients. Pampering and being a host is also her passion, as is turning guests and employees into friends. Together with Wasserschloss Wyher, she is consistently committed to sustainability, ecology and ethics.
Isabelle Steiger has been the responsible chef at Wasserschloss Wyher since March 2023 and has also been the culinary director of Schloss Altishofen since April 2025. Prior to that, she worked in all departments of Swiss Holiday Park AG in Morschach for around 8 years, most recently as a trained chef with a federal certificate, as ‘Chef Tournant’ and ‘Deputy Chef’.
Andreas Knöchel, HERMITAGE Lake Lucerne, lives by the motto that even normal people from small villages can think big. He wants to motivate young people to return to the catering industry and does so with a relaxed but precise management style.
He grew up in the shipping town of Alsleben on the Saale and completed his apprenticeship at the 3-star Hotel Salzgitter. He has lived in Hanover, Sylt and London. It has always been varied: he has done catering all over the world. For example, he cooked for the Swiss rowing team at the Olympic Games and has also cooked for high society such as George Clooney and Stevie Wonder. He even cooked for the British royal family for three years. He has been working as Executive Chef at HERMITAGE since July 2022.
Christophe Maestri, GASTHAUS BADHOF, cooks with a lot of feeling and even more heart. His home-style cooking with an Alsatian flavour delights guests. Naturally, he takes seasonal and regional specialities into account.
He began his training at the hotel management school in Strasbourg. From Commis de Rang to Commis de Cuisine to Chef de Partie, his years of training finally took him from France to America, where he worked as Sous-Chef at Hotel Farringtons. He then moved to Switzerland, first to Solothurn and finally to Baar, where he spoilt guests for many years as head chef at the Bauernhof restaurant. Christophe has been head chef at Gasthaus Badhof since 2024 and his commitment and vigour ensure exceptional culinary delights.
