1 August Trophy with dinner
On Swiss National Day, we’re holding our annual golf event, featuring fun on the course, networking and culinary delights!
This year, the Trophy will once again feature the special format known as the Flag Competition.
In this format, everyone plays individually in a stroke play format. You will be given a red Swiss flag and a scorecard bearing your name and the specified number of strokes.
The number of strokes taken on each hole must be recorded on the scorecard.
Once you have used up your allotted strokes, place your flag where the ball lies, either on the fairway or on the edge of the green (see examples below). For example, if you have used up your strokes on the 9th green, the distance to the hole is measured with a tape measure, noted on the scorecard, and the flag is placed on the edge of the green.
Example 1:
The last stroke is taken from the tee on hole 9; the player hits the ball approximately 130 metres and the flag is placed where the ball lies.
Example 2:
The ball lies on the green of hole 9 and there are still 7 metres to the hole: write ‘Green 9 – 7m’ on the scorecard and place the flag at the edge of the green.
Example 3:
Hole in one on the 9th green: write on the scorecard: ‘Green 8 – hole in one’ and place the flag at the edge of the green.
Once you’ve finished on the golf course, there’ll of course be a well-deserved dinner!
We look forward to a successful tournament and a cosy evening with you. Your non-golfing guests are welcome to join us for the drinks reception and dinner.
