Springtime in a glass!

Spring is here! We have made a lovely, tangy syrup with daisies, goutweed and lemon balm.

Exciting facts:

  • Daisies were ordered to be eradicated at the end of the 18th century, probably because it was suspected of being used for abortion purposes. However, the daisy is considered by naturopaths to be the arnica of the uterus. It is used in spagyric form after childbirth, for example, as well as after sexual assault.
  • Goutweed: Once you have it in your garden, it's hard to get rid of! But it has many good things: It is an absolute superfood, as the leaves are rich in vitamin C, magnesium, calcium and iron. Ideally, goutweed is used in smoothies, soups or as spinach. Goutweed is also said to help relieve joint pain. To do this, crush or chew the leaves and then rub the pulp onto the affected area of skin.
  • Lemon balm is considered a relaxing and calming agent. Just think of the classic lemon balm spirit. Its lemon-like odour is really good and it has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries.

Of course, these healing effects are not to be expected in the syrup, we are all about seasonal enjoyment - produced on our doorstep. Cheers!
