Spitex-Mobile gives families with disabled or seriously ill children a great deal of independence. Specially converted family vehicles are made available to the families concerned.
Caring for a disabled child is very stressful for parents. This is precisely why it is important for them to ‘get out’ regularly and experience something together with their children. However, this often requires a specially converted large car. This is the only way to transport a pushchair or wheelchair with the whole family.
Without mobility, there is a risk of isolation
Not only for joint excursions, but also in everyday life, affected families are repeatedly restricted in their mobility: hospital, doctor and therapy visits become an organisational gauntlet if, for example, a small sibling has to travel with them - and participation in social events is also made more difficult.
Spitex-Mobile provides families and groups with disabled children with vehicles that can accommodate up to six people in addition to a reclining buggy or wheelchair. The families only have to pay the fuel costs. All vehicles are maintained by regional garages and are easy to operate. This means that the group can travel safely and without worries.
The vehicles are primarily financed through the sponsorship of local companies. Because social commitment starts in the neighbourhood! The Spitex-Mobile project is a nationwide project of the Swiss Kinderspitex Association. Since the start of the project, more than 50 family vehicles have already been realised.
