Bird excursion on the High Stem Tree Day

Did you know that with the construction of the Meggen golf course, practically all the high trunk trees could be taken over? In addition to the 250 trees, another 2400 shrubs and 224 trees have been planted in the meantime. This not only pleases us, but also the birdlife!

The Wasseramsel Innerschwyz Nature and Bird Protection Association organised a bird excursion on 22 April. 46 bird species could be heard or seen by those interested, under the expert guidance of Martin Hess.

Monk warbler, swallow, great spotted woodpecker, raven, magpie, wagtail, jay, red kite, starling, nuthatch, grey heron, summer goldcrest and chiffchaff were observed, to name but a few.

Many thanks to Martin Hess for his valuable introduction to nature. Thanks are also due to the interested excursion visitors: May they be able to put one or two tips into practice at home.
