Meggen's Frog Trail

Come and hop along! Freddy the Frog is taking you on a great adventure.
To mark its 70th anniversary, Fröschenzunft Meggen has created a brand-new nature trail in Meggerwald. This trail is a real highlight for little explorers and their parents. It shows in a fun way just how full of life our forest is and why we need to protect nature.

Dear children, welcome to the Frog Trail!
Pick up a copy of the map from us at the Gasthaus Badhof and join our nimble grass frog Freddy on his big journey. Painted frogs will guide you along the way from station to station. There, exciting frog facts and tricky puzzles await you. Anyone who solves all the puzzles will uncover Freddy’s big secret and can collect a little surprise at the Badhof inn with their puzzle sheet.

The Frog Trail follows the habitat of the common frog.
The leisurely route takes about an hour and is perfectly suitable for pushchairs. Your adventure starts at the Badhof restaurant and ends at the Felseli. From there, you can be back at the starting point in just a few minutes, or simply take the bus.

A great deal of passion has gone into this project.
The members of the Meggen Frog Guild (a carnival group) have spent many hours of their free time setting up the trail. The beautiful illustrations and design are by Meggen-based illustrator Natasha Hofer Andris.
